Google rolled out the ability to measure body temperature in the Thermometer app in the Pixel 8 Pro smartphone. The app is the first FDA-granted body temperature app. The Pixel 8 Pro comes with a contactless temperature sensor on the camera visor. It can measure the temperature of different surfaces and objects. The January Pixel feature drop expanded the capability of the sensor to measure body temperature. The infrared sensor scans the temporal artery and calculates the temperature displayed on the phone's screen. It is as accurate as other temporal artery thermometers.
